A 5,000mAh power bank is usually about portability rather than maximum capacity. It is small enough to carry every day without adding much weight or bulk, while still providing enough charge to give a phone a substantial top-up when you need it. For many people, that makes 5,000mAh a practical capacity for getting through the day.
At this size, every gram matters. A power bank that weighs 100g is noticeably easier to carry around than one that weighs 150g, particularly if you keep it in a pocket or carry it every day.
This ranking shows the lightest 5,000mAh power banks currently documented in the USB Hubbub database. The main ranking excludes models that are Lightning-only; those are covered separately below. We compare weight alongside maximum output and the features that can make a lightweight power bank more useful, such as a built-in charging connector or cable.

What is the lightest 5,000mAh power bank?
The lightest model in the main ranking is the NITECORE NB Air, at 89g (3.1 oz). It combines that low weight with an 18W maximum output and a USB-C port.
At 89g, the NB Air is currently the clear weight leader in the USB Hubbub database’s 5,000mAh category. The next-lightest non-Lightning model is the AUKEY PB-Y59 at 100g.
A built-in connector can save more than a few grams
Several of the lightest models include a built-in connector or cable. That can make a difference beyond the weight of the power bank itself: you may not need to carry a separate charging cable.
The trade-off is that the integrated connector or cable can make the power bank less flexible than carrying a separate cable, so the right choice depends on how you normally charge your devices.
Lightweight doesn’t necessarily mean low power
The lightest models are not necessarily the weakest. The AUKEY PB-Y59, Anker A1648 and Anker A1653 all reach 22.5W despite weighing around 100g, while the 89g NITECORE NB Air reaches 18W.
The NITECORE POCKET 5 reaches 22.5W at 125g, while the NW5000 reaches 20W wired output at 120g.
That makes weight alone an incomplete way to compare small power banks. If fast charging matters to you, maximum output is worth considering alongside weight.
Magnetic charging changes the trade-off
Magnetic models can be particularly convenient because they can charge a compatible phone without a cable connection. Lightweight 5,000mAh models in the database include the Baseus AM71, Baseus AM41 and NITECORE NW5000.
The NITECORE NW5000 weighs 120g and supports up to 15W wireless output in addition to wired USB-C charging, making it a notably light option for users who want magnetic charging.
The NITECORE POCKET 5 is another compact option at 125g, with a built-in USB-C cable as well as a USB-C port.
Wireless charging can make a power bank easier to use, but it is a different trade-off from a wired USB-C connection.
Special case: Lightning-only power banks
Two of the lightest 5,000mAh models in our database are Lightning-only: the Anker A1645, at 99g (3.5 oz), and the Anker A1219, at 110g (3.9 oz).
We’ve excluded them from the main ranking because Lightning-only power banks are mainly relevant to older Apple devices. If you specifically need a Lightning power bank, the A1645 is the lightest model currently documented by USB Hubbub.

Does lighter mean better?
Not necessarily. A lighter power bank is easier to carry, but a slightly heavier model may offer substantially more output, wireless charging, a built-in cable, or other features that matter more to you.
For a 5,000mAh power bank, the useful question is often not simply “What is the lightest?” but “How much capability am I getting for the weight I have to carry?”
